The Goddess of 7th day of Chaitra Navratri is Maa Kalratri. This 'Dark Colored Goddess' brings darkness for all the wicked and evil things, but light for her devotees. All the negativity and unpleasant things vanish away, only with a view of her appearance. Her name Kaalratri depicts that she brings death for Kaal. She has three eyes, four hands, and rides on a donkey. She holds a cleaver in one hand and dagger in second. The third hand is raised upwards in 'Protecting Mudra' for her devotees and the fourth hand is seen in 'Giving Mudra'. According to the stories, the most wicked devil, Raktabeej was killed by Maa Kalratri.
Seventh day of Navratri is also called the day of Siddhis. This is an important day for Tantriks for performing their Tantra rituals. They perform some special Puja rituals during the midnight of Saptami.
