India is a land of many religions. Not only it has nurtured a number of religions, but has given birth to many important religions as well. Jainism is one such religion that owes it origin to this motherland. There are a number of festivals that are celebrated by Jains. Most of the Jain festivals are related to the purification of their souls and to the life of the 24 Tirthankaras of Jainism. There are two sects in Jainism- Shwetambar and Digambar. There are some festivals that are specific for each sect, while others are celebrated by both the sects.

The first Rohini Vrat of the year 2019 will be observed on 18 january.
02 Feb 2019 Saturday Meru Trayodashi Meru Trayodashi is a popular Jain festival, which is observed to celebrate the attainment of Nirvana (salvation) by Lord Rishav Dev, the first Tirthankar of Jain religion.
14 Feb 2019 Thursday Rohini Vrat Rohini Vrat is a fast that is observed by Jains. It begins with the rise of Rohini Nakshatra after sunrise. It is believed that this fast is very auspicious and brings an end to the woes of the observer.
14 Mar 2019 Thursday Ashtahnika Vidhan Begins Ashtahnika Vidhan is a eight-day long festival, which Jains of both the sects- Digambaras and Svetambaras observe with zeal and devotion. It falls after every four months. The first Ashtahnika Vidhan of 2019 begins on 14 March.

28 Mar 2019 Thursday Varshitaap Arambha It is a yearly ritual of Jains which is celebrated annually after a period of about 13 months and 13 days. It starts on the 8th day of Krishna Paksha of the Chaitra month and ends on the Akshaya Tritiya of the next year.

19 April 2019 Friday Navpad Oli Ends Navpad Oli is celebrated twice a year. It is a nine day long festival. The first Navpad Oli ends on 19 April 2019 during this year.

17 July 2019 Wednesday Ashtahnika Vidhan Ends Ashtahnika Vidhan is a eight-day long festival, which Jains of both the sects- Digambaras and Svetambaras observe with zeal and devotion. It falls after every four months.The second Ashtahnika Vidhan of 2019 ends on 17 July.
28 July 2019 Sunday Rohini Vrat Rohini Vrat is a sacred fast observed by Jains. The fast stretches from the rise of Rohini Nakshatra to the rise of Margashirsha Nakshatra. It falls after every 27 days. The fasting should be concluded with Udyapana.
25 August 2019 Sunday Rohini Vrat Rohini Vrat is one of the most common fasts that is observed by the people of the Jain community. It begins with the rise of Rohini Nakshatra after sunrise. The Parana is done with the rise of Margashirsha Nakshatra.
27 August 2019 Tuesday Paryushan Parva Rambha It is the festival during which people devotedly try to purify their souls and reflect back on their deeds. They remind themselves that their ultimate motive is to achieve salvation.
03 September 2019 Tuesday Samvatsari Parva It is the last day of the Paryushan, during which Jains try to cleanse themselves of all the sins and ask for forgiveness from all the creatures of the world.

18 October 2019 Friday Rohini Vrat Rohini Vrat is a fast observed by Jains. The ritual begins with the rise of Rohini Nakshatra after sunrise and the Parana is done with the rise of Margashirsha Nakshatra. The 11th Rohini Vrat of 2019 will fall on 18th October.
27 October 2019 Sunday Mahavir Nirvana It commemorates the day on which Lord Mahavira attained enlightenment or Nirvana. The day falls on the same day as Diwali.
