What is Yoni Tantra?

The Yoni Tantra is a religious text from Bengal (16th century) mainly concerned with describing the Yoni Puja, or "Mass of the Vulva"; one of the secret and esoteric Tantric rituals dedicated to creating - and consuming - the sacred fluid which is called yonitattva.

According to this text, sexual union (mithunam) is an indispensable part of Tantric ritual and may be performed by and with women between the age of twelve and sixty years, married or not, except for a girl not yet menstruating. The text specifies nine types of women (navakanya) who may perform sexual rituals, yet explicitly forbids an incestuous mother/son constellation.

Lust is not spirituality. Tantra is not much different from mushroom droppers in the desert, who recorded visions when they were high and made a "religion" - or from the rastas who smoke dope and "see god". The Latin origin of religion is "self-restraint" (tie [one's self] back), and it most certainly isn't indulgence. Celibacy is the first step to purifying the self and establishing a good meditation practice.

    Outrageous, the denial of man's
true nature to unite through a
    yin/yang chemistry and to create
    power through this union,is not
    irreligious. Furthermore, many
    rastafarians emissaries of the
    Lord King Solomon, are extremely
    pious,humble,natural and godly.
I disagree, celibacy is the road
    to becoming a boring,ridiculously
perverse being, since it is our
    nature to experience love,and af-
    fection on multiple levels, When
    dealing with powerful forces, it
is easy to fall, this is true. All
else is a lie. You must be pure
    of heart to meditate effectively
    not judgemental and critical. It
is a perverse weakness you admit
    in your own statements. Absurd.
