A total solar eclipse occurs when the Moon comes between the Earth and the Sun and the Earth is completely covered by the Moon, due to which the Sun's light does not reach the Earth and the entire Sun is not visible on Earth. This eclipse is called a total solar eclipse.
Partial Solar Eclipse
A partial solar eclipse occurs when the Moon comes between the Sun and the Earth and part of the Sun is not visible from Earth. Because of this, some part of the Sun is not affected by the eclipse and some part is unaffected by the eclipse, then the eclipse in that particular part of the Earth is called a partial solar eclipse.
Annular Solar Eclipse
An annular solar eclipse occurs when the Moon comes between the Earth and the Sun while being far away from the Earth, that is, the Moon covers the Sun in such a way that only the central part of the Sun comes in the shadow region. During this, when viewed from the Earth, the Sun is not seen to be completely covered by the Moon, but due to the illumination of the area outside the Sun, it appears to shine in the form of a bracelet or ring. The solar eclipse made in bracelet shape is called annular solar eclipse.

In this segment on Solar Eclipse 2022, we will understand its significance. According to a popular story, when the churning of the nectar in the ocean( Amrit Manthan) took place between the Gods and the demons, nectar manifested in an urn. In the quest to attain immortality, a war ensued between the Devas and the Asuras for the Kalash or urn, in which the Asuras were able to snatch the nectar from the gods by defeating them. To stop the Asuras from consuming the nectar, Lord Vishnu took the form of Mohini and captivated the Asuras with his/her beautiful appearance and cleverly managed to get the nectar from the demons. When Vishnu in the form of Mohini started distributing nectar among the deities, a demon named Swarabhanu played a trick to drink the nectar. He changed his form and stood in the line of the Gods, but Chandradev and Surya Dev understood this move of Swarbhanu. Then, Lord Vishnu got angry and separated Swarabhanu's neck from his torso with his Sudarshan Chakra.
But, Swarabhanu had drunk a few drops of nectar till then, he did not die and since then his head was called Rahu and his trunk was called Ketu. It is believed that since then due to the same enmity, Rahu and Ketu take the form of eclipse every year to avenge their destruction.
