Namkaran Sanskar Shubh Muhurat 2021

The Hindu religious scriptures talk about the existence of 16 Sanskars in total which should be carried out wholeheartedly in between a person's life and death, as this ensures the person's safety and wellbeing. One such Sanskaar is the Namkaran or naming ceremony during which the parents of a newly born child select a name for him/her in accordance with an auspicious Muhurat.

However in the modern world today parents tend to select names for their child casually without adhering to any proper rites and rituals. It shouldn't be done as it can create futuristic problems for the child. In order to keep the child free of problems, there is a need to commemorate the Namkaran ceremony on time. Also, the Namkaran Muhurat is when an auspicious name is finally selected for the child after keeping his birth sign and Nakshatra in mind.

How to Calculate the Shubh Muhurat for Namkaran Sanskar Ceremony?

In order to calculate the Shubh Muhurat for the Naming ceremony, the help of an expert astrologer must be taken. For the same, the astrologer also takes some notes from the Hindu Panchang, where they conduct a deep study on the birth chart of the child and understand the impact of planetary positions and finally come to a conclusion regarding the name of the child.

In the realm of Hindu culture and religion the Sanskar ceremony is considered to be quite important as it not only benefits the child socially but also proves to be of great help to him or her in the adolescence stages of life. According to traditions and customs, the Namkaran ceremony’s commemoration provides mental and physical development to the child. Consequently, the might and intelligence of the child also improves. The Namkaran Sanskar ceremony provides the child with a necessary recognition and identity, which he/she is yet to receive in life. However, there are certain things during the commemoration of the Namkaran ceremony which the parents must keep in mind. Some of them are mentioned below.

Namkaran Shubh Muhurat 2021 - Shubh Tithi and Nakshatra

  • The Namakaran Sanskar should only be commemorated according to a Shubh Muhurat after going through the horoscope and planetary position of the child.
  • According to the traditions of Sanatan Dharma, the Namkaran ceremony should be commemorated on the 11th or 12th day after the childbirth.
  • If the Hindu Panchang is to be believed, then it should be commemorated immediately after the Sutak period ends.
  • However, the Chaturthi, Navami, Chaturdashi and Amavasya Tithi are considered to be inauspicious for the commemoration of the Namkaran Muhurat 2021.
  • Apart from this, any Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday are considered to be the most auspicious in the arena of astrology to organize the Naming ceremony.
  • On the other hand, if we talk about the Nakshatras, then it is best advised to perform the Naming ceremony of the child during the Ashwani, Shatabhisha, Swati, Chitra, Revathi, Hasta, Pushya, Rohini, Mrigashira and Anuradha, Uttarashada, Uttaraphalguni, Uttarabhadrapada, Shravan Nakshatras.
  • According to the scriptures, two names are selected for the child during the Namkaran ceremony, the first happens to be a secret name which is not known to anyone and the second is by the name in which the world addresses the child.

Namkaran Shubh Muhurat 2021 : Things to Keep in Mind

  • While conducting the Namkaran ceremony, one should only wear clean and new clothes. If possible, try to conduct the ceremony at your own place. If it is not possible to, then it should be commemorated at a holy place.
  • During this time, parents and the child should also wear new clothes. Only close friends and family members should be invited to the ceremony.
  • With the help taken from an experienced astrologer, the name of the child should be kept according to his/her zodiac sign. Otherwise, there are chances of the child facing difficulties in the future.
  • On the day of the Namakaran Sanskar ceremony, no one at the house should consume non-vegetarian food and other intoxicating substances.
  • Also, on the day of Namkaran Sanskar ceremony only, the child should be made to touch certain food items like grains, clothes, fruits, sweets and many other things and they should be given away in a donation to poor and needy people.
  • On the day this function takes place, the child’s parents should not cut/shave their hair.
  • Make sure the child seeks blessings from the elderly members of the family on the occasion of the Namkaran Sanskar ceremony.
